Philanthropy

 

The philanthropy we are working with this year is LifeNet Health. LifeNet Health is a state-wide organization that supports and promotes saving lives through organ donation. We are encouraging conference participants (and RA staffs throughout the state) to sponsor a program this upcoming year to help educate fellow students about the importance of being registered as an organ donor and to hold registration drives on their campus. 

We also ask that each delegation bring an item on the approved donation list for a child in a hospital who has received, or is waiting for a life saving organ transplant. Currently, the national waiting list for organ donors is over 100,000 and every 11 minutes someone is added to the waiting list for a life saving organ transplant.
